On Wednesday 3rd June 2015 Holmach attended Campden BRI Day, a networking event held annually to discuss developments in the food and thermal processing industries. The lecture this year was given by Charles Wilson, CEO of Booker, on the changing and developing nature of food suppliers in and outside of the supermarkets.
We were delighted to see so many esteemed colleagues also in attendance. In particular, we watched the results of the Ecotrophelia UK competition with interest, entered by innovative teams of students from universities across the UK. Products presented to the judges of the competition included chocolate made with chlorella powder, cauliflower rice, gluten-free chocolate and edible insects, following recent trends in the food industry that we will be watching closely for relevant applications. We even tried the edible insects.
For more information about the day and how to attend next year, see the Campden BRI
website.
